The Ugly Duckling is a popular fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. The tale has seen various adaptations, turning the spotlight to the little duckling whose fate is linked with verbal abuse, rejection, loneliness, and disappointment. The tale gives a wonderful opportunity to discuss these topics with the whole class.
Students of Grade 0B were asked to draw an ugly duckling by making a smooth stroke, trying to not let the pencil or a marker pause before the picture is finished. Then they used pastels to put the finishing touches, and thus complete the task.
