Last Friday second graders took part in an art workshop. The main objective of the lesson dealt with the problem of saving animals. Children learned about the public organization called "Animals", which aims at rescuing animals in need, animals that are treated badly. The organization's goal is also to prevent homelessness, cruelty to animals. What is more, the organization tries to put an end to gross negligence by raising people's awareness.
We are grateful to Tosia's mom for coming to our classroom and sharing her knowledge with us. She not only presented the postulates of the public organization, but also encouraged children to take actions. Thus, their task was to design a linear and colorful pictures that could become the logo for "Animals". Below you may find the students' designs.
On Saint Nicholas Day, December 6, second graders received a special gift. The initial idea of the project was changed. The works of art that the children produced inspired Tosia’s mom to extend the assignment. The students’ designs were transformed into felt brooches or magnets. And Saint Nicholas Day turned out to be a fantastic occasion to celebrate the students’ achievements. Below there are photographs taken on that day.
