Lines of Symmetry!

TASK: During these past few weeks we have been dealing with geometry, different math tasks that require spatial imagination. Thus our art lessons were devoted to painting and drawing using lines of symmetry. The students' task was to fold a piece of paper, unfold it and just in the middle (on the fold line) put a drop of their favorite paint. Next they had to fold the piece of paper again, use their hands to make the paint spread all over the area. In the end they unfolded the piece of paper to reveal the picture. They tried to guess what it might show. Moreover, they made some prints of their paintings.

Artistic & Creative Workshop.

Last Friday first graders participated in the art workshop that was run by one of the parents (Tosia'a Mom). The workshop aimed at stimulating children's creativity, engaging everyone in some art creative experiences, supporting teamwork and cooperation among students. Finally, it aimed at firing up children's imagination. I would like to express my greatest appreciation to Tosia's Mom for organizing this workshop and sharing with us all. We are really grateful for her commitment, support, good word and unlimited imagination.
