Trees Change with Seasons. My Gratitude Song: What I am thankful for.

"I'm thankful for the passion, for the talents I can use. For the life I am creating, I'm thankful I can choose..."
Each of us would probably give a different response to the question - What are you thankful for? What truly matters is that while sharing our experiences and practices, expressing "thanks", we discover the real meaning of Thanksgiving. "If you are really thankful, what do you do? You share." (W. Clement Stone)

The first idea of the project was to show how trees change from one season to another. The students were to show differences in color. While painting the students mainly relied on their imagination and sense of color. Trees provide a spectacle of colors throughout all four seasons. Many of them will lose their leaves, but since your imagination can take you anywhere you can bring back these images with ease and in no time.

I am thankful for having an opportunity to share, understand the joy of working with different students and learn from them to enrich myself and become a better person.

Funny Witches' Portraits

Witches cackle, witches make witches' brew. Witches are not always scary, and that is all true!

The class project aimed at firing students' imagination to design portraits of witches that, unlike in some pictures we are familiar with, not necessarily look unfriendly or scary. First the students had a look at some pictures of witches. Next they got to know the witches' names which were often unconventional and amusing. Finally their task was to draw portaits in pencil, which later on they traced in black permanent marker. All students had a great time making up witches' names that match their looks.

In the end all the pictures were put on display. They were pasted on large pieces of cardboard.
The photographs below present the result of the first graders' work. Bravo!

Art Classes: The Path to Destination Leads Through Imagination.

Each month brings about new ideas, solutions, approaches to learning through creative activity. Some creative tasks, even though we may be familiar with them, in the course of learning and gaining new experience get a totally new perspective. Creativity develops through thinking, experiencing, exploring, imagining, experimenting and discovering. While it focuses on the process rather than the result, some drawings - products of a child's creative activity may be highly valued by adults.
The pictures presented below have been collected with the purpose of showing a variety of students' creative activities. It all starts when the child is exposed to various types of art mediums. The final shape that their work of art gets is a result of creative thinking where the imagination plays a crucial role. Each drawing, artwork holds a mark of the artist's hand What is more, it conveys the artist's emotions, presents their unique way of perceiving the world.
