Our World in Art: Perspective.

"Art is as natural as sunshine and as vital as nourishment" Mary Ann F. Kohl

Children love art. It is one of the most natural activities for them. Exposing children to works of art and allowing them to express themselves have many benefits. They learn to think creatively, observe and describe using different art media. Given a chance to experiment with color, shape, texture etc. they practice and develop problem-solving, critical thinking, and express their feelings, and it has been proved that it also helps them build confidence. We could come up with a much longer list of benefits, and still there will be a place left for the unkown, undiscovered.

"Our World in Art" is a class project that aims at developing childrens' artistic and language skills helping them become confident students who are open to share with others, curious students who are aware of their strengths and weaknesses that not necessarily make them feel worried about. "Artists help us to look at our world. They look at places and people, and then they show them in pictures...Artists don't only make pictures."

Artists have always been interested in the cities. Sometimes they want us to think that we are inside the painting. Thus they use perspective to achieve their aim. One of our art lessons was devoted to making a pastel painting using perspecitve. Here are the results of the students' effort.
